WOMEN IN THE MOUNTAINS FESTIVAL

The Women in the Mountains Film Festival, a film event whose goal is to promote the female practice of mountain sports, was born following the success of a "Women in the Mountains" film tour that took place during two consecutive years (2018-2019). In 2019, the film festival "Women in the mountains" is born thanks to the association "On n’est pas que des collants" which is a non-profit association whose desire is to promote and mediatize the practice of women and gender in mountain sports through film evenings and debates.

This year, this cinematographic event will take place from November 18 to 21 in Annecy and Talloires, during six screening evenings, including one for students. The films shown are amateur or professional, in short, medium or feature length, and highlight women or mixed teams in the mountains through the themes of travel, outdoor sports, cultural discoveries, and portraits of women in the mountains to show that they can be inspiring, competent and that they have abilities.

Moreover, a novelty will be implemented this year with the possibility to follow the screenings online, in addition to the screening in theaters, in order to make the event accessible to a maximum of people. At the end of the six screenings, three prizes will be awarded: the Grand Jury Prize, the Best Short Film, and the Audience Prize.
